UNDERSTANDING BOBCATS IN THE GRANITE STATE: A cooperative project led by the University of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department

Report Your Bobcat Sightings

We’re interested ion learning where you are encountering bobcats with the State. The map on the right summarizes the 90 verified observations made from 1990 to 2004 that were cataloged by NH Fish and Game biologists. We know that bobcats are occupying a larger portion of the State, so please help us out.

Please, e-mail your observations to: john@unh.edu in the following format:

1. Observer’s name
2. Date and time of your observation
3. Township
4. Exact location (longitude/latitude from a GPS unit would really help. If this isn’t possible, include a good description. For example, 1.2 miles east on Route 4 from the intersection of Route 4 and Route 125 in Lee).
5. Observation type (choose one): seen, tracks, trapped, roadkill, other (describe)
6. Bobcat’s activity at time of your observation
7. Any other details (kittens present, chased by dog, etc.)
